Four saxes might seem an unlikely combination but can make a lovely sound, epitomised by the all-female Fairer Sax. Our quartet, named after an icon that was rooted in Bristol, comprised Emily Preston (soprano), Marc Horrobin (alto), myself (tenor) and Laura Porter (baritone).   We played a mixture of classical arrangements (from Bach to Finzi) and some modern pieces written specifically for the four saxes.
